8bar love to ride their bikes ourselves and go on trips that deviate somewhat from the average.

Starting in 2012 by crossing the Alps with their fixed-gear bikes, to taking a trip from Berlin to Prague without the help of a map with their Singlespeed Cyclocross bikes in 2013 and climbing the Schneekoppe, the highest peak of the Giant Mountains in Poland, in 2014 with their road bikes.

This time they decided on Africa, the Atlas Mountains in the middle of Morocco to be more precise, as their next destination. The Atlas forms a striking divided line between the relatively humid climate in the far north of Maghreb to the extremely dry Sahara.

Today we bring you a video from 8bar bikes, it's really beautiful, not about fixies, but...amazing!

Max and Stefan were looking for an adventure not too far away from Berlin, which they can do with their 8bar KRONPRINZ road bikes. So they decided to climb the Schneekoppe which was the highest elevation close by. Unfortunately there is only a ten kilometer long cobbled road in a really bad condition leading until the peak. It is said to be doable with Mountainbikes only...

#video | the YEAR of the MOUNTAIN | Tribute to Xiao Yu

Hi fixed gear friends, recently we have received an emotive email from Rob Silgals from Taipei City. Here you have their words about this emotive video:

We ride our single speed bikes as high into the mountains as possible. With each pedal stroke, we leave our problems behind as we are greeted with the most excruciating pain, a wanting to give up. Once we reach the top, calmness sinks in and the mind and heart is set at peace. It's not until the descent that we realize what we have lost as we rapidly head back into reality.

This video is dedicated to my friend Xiao Yu who recently passed away in a horrific accident (non-bike related). He was too young and had not even lived life yet. He was a bike messenger with the company Prodorapid before moving on to Skunk Messenger. He had a love for riding bikes and was one of the first people in Taiwan to push me as a rider. We will miss you. Rest in peace.

Sure Xiao Yu will be awaiting us riding in the heaven....All our best wishes.

Whilst TAYLR SWFT as a whole sees Kill Frenzy develop his uncompromising, ghetto-bound repertoire with serious maturity, depth and class. Growing up, Kill Frenzy and his friends would cruise the streets of Belgium on fixie bikes exploring new territories. This was the key inspiration behind the “All Night Long” video. Their director's team linked up with the “Fixie Goons”, a bike crew that is recognized for their urban cycling movement. This video provides a glimpse into the crews' regular late-night antics: cruising the desolate streets Los Angeles, popping tricks and having a blast in the process.
