Today we bring you a new product from JustOne Custom Saddles, for sure you want one of these genuine saddles....wow!

The Western Saddle is their newest line of saddles, it's built on the same base as their Nu~Vin saddles and can come with or with/out the rivet post. The leather on the western saddles is a embossed full grain cowhide leather. Each saddle is handcrafted making each saddle unique. The leather on each saddle is hand selected for quality, then cut, prepared and shaped for each saddle. These steps make every saddle a one of a kind. They personally handcraft each saddle one at a time to ensure the quality and uniqueness of each saddle, every saddle they produce is JustOne!

Hi riders, here we come again with more product reviews!

Do you remember our past post about our customized saddle created by JustOne? (link) In this case we want to show you a handmade saddle created by JustOne called Nu-Vin, and why this rare name? 

Well, Nu-Vin saddle is a modern feel with vintage style, and completely customized. They developed the Nu-Vin saddle base on the very popular "Regal" saddle, with a mix of modern feel with wintage style.

They worked with Leather Tanneries to develope a line of leather that is bast for the unique conditions of a bicycle saddle. Beveled edge screw post made from solid brass finished in nickel plate (our model) or antique brass gives a classic vintage look to our bike.

For us, we have customized the saddle with a hot pink leather (pink is our color as you sure know....), in few days we received in Spain the saddle really well packed to arrive in perfect conditions, no issues!

Product review: Pink leather custom saddle by Just One

All of us love to create a custom and genuine fixed gear bike, and sometimes we use to buy saddle from big brand, but, a few of us want to have a genuine saddle for his bike, completely customized and with a high quality. This product review is for all of them. Today we want to show you a customized saddle made by our friend Marcus from Just One Custom Bicycle, and we want to show the product and process to get the product via Etsy (A big online shop for hand makers like Just One, where he has his online shop).

As you can see in the images, we ordered a genuine saddle for our Pinky Fixie in black and pink, for that we order a pink saddle, strong pink! And we wanted a high quality leather, and that is what we received, a high quality leather custom saddle in pink!

Easy to install in our saddle bar, easy to adjust to our pedaling position. Very soft skin and has enough padding to be comfortable while pedaling. We have tested it for a route of 15 km and sensations during and after were very good. No pain in our ass ...great!!!

Custom order process

1st day: 7/01/2014

Requesting for a saddle via Etsy.

We have sent a request order throw Etsy to order a saddle in pink colour.

And Marcus has sent me an email to notice me that he will send me photos to choose a saddle, great! Absolutely customizable!

I answer him via Etsy attaching a photo of my fixed gear bike to show him. We wait for recommendation accord with my bike, a cool saddle!

He answered me with two model of saddles to choose: Race Sport and Flat Top, he inform me that the last one, Flat Top, is the last model, longest and comfortable for me. I trust in him and I choose the Flat Top.

2nd day: 8/01/2014

He answer me with a proposal and a photo of the leathers in pink and purple colour, he recommend me the pink colour.

I have received an email confirming the saddle as we had comment, he notice me that in two days I will receive a photo of the saddle made. And, as this is an exclusive model just for me, he will create a private order via Etsy, great!

3rd day: 10/01/2014
I receive a message from Marcus showing me the saddle, it's great! Now I can order it with the exclusive order via Etsy, it's easy to do, in our case paying with Paypal.

4th day: 16/01/2014
I have received the saddle, it's amazing! I have my pink sadlle for my Pinky Fixie! Only 6 days to receive it from USA to Spain. Only 9 days from our custom order until receive the product, great!

This week we have a very interesting review, Selle Royal's friends sent us two models of its new saddle retro collection called "Origins". Remember the saddles of the 70's and 80's? Personally I remember when I was young and I got my first BMX bike, wearing a red plastic saddle ultramodern at the time, was the envy of my friends! Well, Selle Royal has returned to manufacture the famous Aeroyal! Incredible memories it brings me ...
And, do you remember racing bikes from the 70's? Many top riders wore saddle famous model, called Contour Royal... and it is back to manufacture too!
 

During these days we could test these two saddles on our test bike Pinky Fixie and the truth, we have found that are fantastic, a touch too retro for our bike.

This saddle model Aeroyal was made exactly like the model in the 80s wore our BMX bikes, so if you have a fixed gear bike tricks this saddle to give a touch to your BMX bike saddle and is a very lightweight and comfortable.  

The model we tested is white, but you can also choose black color.
The anchoring system is like any other saddle, is compatible with any of the most used systems.

The saddle we tested is the Contour Royal in white, an instant classic when It Appeared in the '70s, This fusion of ultimate comfort and tradition has been re-created to combine strong, ultralight materials with maximum support. You can also buy insurance in other colors combine perfectly with your fixie: blue, white and black.
The weight of this saddle is 395 gr.
As you can see in the pictures, this model gives our saddle fixed gear bike a touch of "retro" and minimalist, and when you use, is simple and comfortable. We have checked that a saddle is easy to clean, you know that the saddles very light colors get dirty quickly, but the material it is constructed this model is easy to clean using a damp cloth.

Conclusions:

Aeroyal:

• Attractive and with retro look, like BMX 80's
• lightweight
• It's plastic, so if you want a saddle in which to spend long hours may not be the best model, but if you want to do tricks is perfect!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Royal Contour:

• Minimalist, simple, and retro-looking, but good quality. 
• Good materials, very easy to clean. 
• Lightweight and comfortable. 
• Attractive if you enjoy having a fixie with an air of the 70's.

Brooks vs Kashimax, which do you choose?
