#video | #Seabase1910 with Patrick Seabase - 300 km - Fixed Gear

When in 1910 the organisers of the Tour de France included a mountain stage in the race for the first time, the outcry in the peloton was huge. With 300 kilometres and 6000 vertical metres of climbing over five mountain passes from Bagnères de Luchon to Bayonne, it was a brutal parcours that struck fear into the heart of even the toughest riders of the time. Now, 105 years later, Switzerland’s Patrick Seabase is set to follow in the tyre tracks of those cycling legends by becoming the first athlete to complete this legendary stage … on a fixie. His challenge of a lifetime starts on 3 June 2015 in the Pyrenees. Fans can follow the adventure in real-time with GPS tracking and a live feed at www.redbull.com/Seabase1910.

We invite you to follow Patrick Seabase on #seabase1910 and join the conversation on Twitter (@patrickseabase, #seabase1910), Facebook (facebook.com/patrickseabase, #seabase1910), and Instagram (@patrickseabase, #seabase1910).

Hardbrakers - Budapest to Istanbul Movie Teaser

Hi fixie lovers! Yesterday we received a post from Karl Krabbenhöft from Hamburg (Germany) telling us their story, here you have it in his own words:

"Last summer 12 of my friends and I went on a tour through Eastern Europe going from Budapest to Istanbul.
It was one of the dopest experiences of my life and we had so much fun riding, checkin out the nature and the  9 cities we past. We met so many nice locals, got really rowdy at the clubs and made a lot of friends.
But because words can’t describe how beautiful the route was we are working on a documentary right now digging through roughly 2TB of footage our friend and camera guy Daniel filmed. We just finished a Teaser which gives an idea of what the documentary will be like. We are already planning our next tour this summer and I can’t wait to ride my bike in the sun again with the best friends you can imagine! (The weather is fucking shitty right now in Hamburg)

http://www.hardbrakers.com/grand-tour/2013-2/ here you can check out the stages with a little report and some other data"

And here we have their teaser, enjoy it!

Dosnoventa at RHC 2013 -Barcelona-

Our friends of Dosnoventa have published their last video of the Red Hook Crit 2013 in Barcelona, and here we have some words about it written by them and the video:

With this video we want to thank all of the participants and riders. You are the ones who made it possible for the Red Hook Criterium, the most prestigious fixed gear race, to take place in Barcelona.
Lots of special thanks to the organization of RHC, and David August Trimble. Thank you very much to everyone who attended our "welcome party" at our headquarters. Thanks to all the riders and especially those who lived with us for the days before the event. Of course, we would like to thank our "tiger team": Fernando Marcos, Carlos Serra and Chris Rabadi, who fought to the end despite their falls. Thank you very much to all riders who trust in Dosnoventa.
And thanks to Barcelona.

PEDALEA O REVIENTA / BCN-VLC / 371KM / 1 DIA

One day you decide to take your bike, escape from the city and start riding as many kilometres as your body can resist. You may ride 30km, 200km... Each person has his or her own limits.
This idea came up to 10 mindless guys who decided to check where their limit was. They settled a goal: cycling from Barcelona to Valencia in just one day: 370Km in a fixed gear bike, which meant forcing the body to the limit, a non stop pedaling, pedaling or burst!
On May the 25th , these guys took off from Barcelona at 4a.m with their fixed gear bikes heading to Valencia in one day.
They were followed by a van with two assistants, and they completed their trip arriving to Valencia the following day at 00:35am. Guys from “De Que Bikes” shop and other people were waiting for them. They gave them a nice welcome party and celebrated with them those 14 hours they spent on the top of their bikes.

Vicious Cycle

For six hours, the night riders of Los Angeles shut down the tile-covered 2nd Street runnel for the biggest bicycle drag race the city has ever seen.
More than 200 riders competed and organizers quickly winnowed the field to a group of the 16 fastest in women's and men's categories. Each rider wore an ankle bracelet that timed their efforts to the one-hundredth of a second. In the end, only two remained. The fastest people on two wheels in the City of Angels.

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING ? via Monsterfixed

This story has thrilled us, a story of personal growth, integration, good people, ...

They are from Singapore and mainly, some of the riders are deaf which is most of them can not able to hear / talks and some of them are normal people like usual ...

They are...Monsterfixed (Mfxd)

Monsterfixed (Mfxd) is a fixed gear group based in Singapore since 2009. Their crew consists of all races, ages ranging from 16 to 26 years old and hearing-impaired and non-hearing impaired members.

Cycling gives them a sense of independence, but it may be even stronger for the deaf community. Hearing impaired cyclists must focus all of their attention when cycling because they are not able to hear sirens and traffic noises.

When cycling, they feel that their body and their bikes are as one.  They gain so much experience through riding. They are inspired by the fixed gear scenes around the world. They gain many friends through cycling and they hope to make more friends & to expose themselves more out there in the fixed gear scene.

They are the heart and the bike is the body, if their legs don’t move the bike won’t start. They have to keep on pedaling to keep it going.

And this is one of their amazing videos telling their stories...really nice!
From The Fixed Gear World, we want to congratulate this group of people, and all those groups, as Monsterfixed, helps integrate people in a positive way, helping them and learning from them personally to outdo day by day.
