#NewBrand | Bambu Campos Bikes - Sustainable Bamboo Bikes

Hi riders!

Today we want to help to an entrepreneur people called "Bambu Campos Bikes", they are located in my hometown, Zaragoza (Spain), and they are now making bamboo bikes, more sustainable than steel or aluminum ones.

They have created different models, but they have two really related with our website: one fixie and other single speed.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Muttonhead cycling pants

Hi riders, today we bring you another product review, in this case about a fashion Muttonhead pants perfects to ride. Perfect for daily urban rides. The big difference with other pants is his elastic ankle. Sometimes we have problems with our pants when we ride, the pants is spotted with grease from the chain, or becomes trapped between the crank and the chain, but with this pants, tested by us, you will not have such problems.

New BOOKMAN Lights USB rechargeable - the eco friendly lights for your fixed gear bike

Our friends of BOOKMAN has sent us their last product...do you remember our last BOOKMAN Lights review? Now, they have created these lights with an USB connector to recharge the batteries, you will not need batteries anymore!

About the BOOKMAN USB Lights

We have reviewed the pitch black model, the package contains a front light with white led, rear light with red led and USB/micro USB cable. In this model is really easy to see the words: FRONT and REAR in the lights, it could help you when you want to attach the lights to your bike (you don't need to switch on the lights to see the color...:-P...)

USB Light is compact, lightweight and surprisingly bright...it fits all bicycles we test, and is quick and easy to attach to the handlebar, fork or saddle post with and elastic rubber band. Its large button on the upper side makes the light easy to turn on and off, even with gloves (perfect for cold days...)

This new light is even brighter than the previous model and fitted with a micro USB port for rechargint the battery. All mobile phone chargers with micro USB connection can be used as potential chargers for the USB Light.

BOOKMAN USB Lights Technical characteristics

Available in four color: Pich Black (this is the model we have tested), Midnight Blue, Raging Red and Shamrock Green.

Weather resistant, it can be used all year round.

Run time: 5 hours (Steady) and 25 hours (Flashing)

Visibility: over 500 meters

Modes: steady, flashing, off

Battery: Lithium-ion

Charging time: 2 hours from flat

Conclusion

• This product is environmental friendly, you will never need to buy new batteries, you only need electricity...it's great!
• Design really simple and easy to use
• Easy to transport in your pocket after park your bike in the city 
• Provides a very good lighting, perfect to increase your safety when riding through the city
• As in the previous model, we recommend this lights!

Bamboo / Titanium bikes by David Protheroe

David Protheroe has sent us pics about one of his passions: the bamboo/titanium bikes. He has sent us a picture of his latest build, if any one would be interested in learning more about building with bamboo or they are interested in purchasing a frame please feel free to contact with David.

Fixie Bamboo / Titanium bike by David Protheroe

His story is that  his small company (only David) is called Revolucion frames,(inspired by Cuban poster art of the 50s and 60s). He works out of a small workshop at his home in the UK just outside London, its early days at the moment,the pic of the frame he sent us is only his second frame.

Road Bamboo / Titanium bike by David Protheroe

His aim is to just build a few frames a year and hopefully sell enough to enable him to carry on building. The build process simplified is a matter of using titanium ''lugs'' (pictured) placed in a jig then bamboo tubes are selected which have been cured (cooked) and have the right wall thickness etc, these are then inserted into the lugs using an aerospace construction adhesive. Decals are applied and then a finishing UV lacquer. He has also sent us a pic of the road bike he built a while back (road) this is built using a carbon wrapping technique, but he prefer working with titanium and will carry on using this process and building fixies as these are very popular in London.
