Hi riders all over the world!
Today, once again, we are really happy to show you another product review, in this case about a race fit jersey, hand-drawn design by Jack Loudon from Duke of the Downs.
They have a lot of designs: Death's-head, Antlers, Dagger, Skull, Wasp... our is called Mandala.
Mandala cycling jersey review
For our review, we chose, as we said, the Mandala design, it's really nice the drawn in the backside, based in flowers and bicycle components as chains and cogs...amazing! As you can see in the photos, the cycling jersey is white print on black.
One thing really important for me is the size, I am not the classic slim rider... I have about 112 cm chest and for me is complicated to find a cycling jersey, in this case, this was not a problem, I talk with someone in Duke of the Downs and the recommend me the XXL size, the biggest you can choose in their shop. When the cycling jersey arrived I discovered the size... was perfect!
As you can see in the pics above, the Mandala cycling jersey comes in a nice cardboard box (well, my own arrives from my office to my home in bad conditions :-P... ), really well packaged with some stickers and info about the product.
This cycling jersey has interesting details, for exemple, in backside pocket you have a zip, very useful to avoid losing important things, or too, the reflecting parts in the back.
About the Duke of the Downs new range of cycling jerseys
Duke of the Downs collaborates with talented British artists to produce hand-designed, limited-edition collections of unique cycling jerseys. They provide cyclists with a choice of gutsy designs on comfortable, high-performance jerseys.
This summer, Duke of the Downs expands its range of short-sleeved jerseys with a celebration of tattoo art and design.
Four new hand-drawn designs by tattoo artist Jack Loudon make up the latest collection. Each design is used as a back print transferred by digital sublimation - a method that ensures that the Italian ink won’t fade and the print won’t affect the breathability of the fabric.
The latest race-fit range features power-band sleeves, a full-length YKK zip and a silicone gripper to hold everything in place. In addition to the three back pockets is a shower-resistant zipped valuables pocket.
Artist Jack Loudon works as a tattoo artist specialising in dot work and fine lines. After looking through his portfolio, they couldn’t wait to get the next range of jerseys up and running. His attention to detail and love of geometric shapes form the base for an awesome collection of designs.
With this in mind, it was important to play around with the samples to ensure that the detail did not get lost in the printing process - the results were worth it. They are super proud to be bringing a taste of tattoo culture to cycle wear.
Jerseys in this range retail at £55 and can be purchased at dukeofthedowns.com

About Duke of the Downs
COMBINING HIGH-QUALITY CYCLE WEAR WITH HAND-DESIGNED ARTWORK
At Duke Of The Downs, they collaborate with talented British artists to produce hand-designed, limited-edition collections of unique cycling jerseys. Their aim is to provide cyclists with a choice of gutsy designs on comfortable, high-performance jerseys.
As cyclists themselves, they agreed that amongst the masses of cycling jerseys available, there wasn’t much variety in style. Don’t get them wrong, they love the vintage classics, and think that some of the current team shirts are awesome - but thet were looking for something a little different. Something more personal. So, they decided to make some themselves.
They are so excited to have Chris Gordon onboard, the man who drew the designs for the first collection.
The incredibly talented Mr Gordon honed his skills at Falmouth University before going on to specialise in printmaking. Working with lino and wood cuts, he is able to carve some of the most incredible images. The results are beautiful.
His style of art is exactly what they were looking for when we pictured how we wanted this collection of jerseys to look. You can check out more of his work at www.chrisdgordon.com
